Music is a unique way of communicating that can inspire, motivate children and reflects the
culture and society we live in. Learning music enables children to better understand the world
they live in, and it's a creative and enjoyable activity too.
Music Education at Symbiosis:
"When words fail, Music Speaks." - H.C. Anderson
- We aim to nurture appropriate values and attitudes
in our students toward music, promoting artistic integrity through various music
performance avenues.
- In 2013, we introduced Trinity Rock and Pop music,
making our school the first Music Exam Center for Rock and Pop. Our students consistently
excel in this syllabus for music exams.
- Students participate in co-curricular activities and
the International Award for Young People (IAYP), where their music attendance and performance
are evaluated.
- We host "Symbi Music Corner" every month, providing a
platform for students to showcase their musical talents.
- Music is an integral part of our school activities, from
the Early Year Programme to the IGCSE and DP levels.
Music Curriculum Overview:
"Music is enough for a lifetime, but a lifetime is not enough for music" - Sergei
Rachmaninov
- In the Early Year Programme, students explore music
through action songs and dance.
- The PYP curriculum, based on IB guidelines, integrates
music exploration with stand-alone music units and other disciplines.
- In the Middle school, the MYP-based curriculum enhances
research and musical skills, accommodating students with special educational needs (SEN).
- In IGCSE and DP, students can choose from Vocals, Drums,
Guitar, or Keyboard and are trained accordingly for Trinity Rock and Pop examinations.
- The school Music Studio is accessible to the entire Symbiosis
family, featuring separate rooms for various instruments and a plan for continual upgrades to
enhance the learning experience.
