Preethy Sunil is the SIS PYP Coordinator leading a team of dynamic IB facilitators, including Homerooms and subject specialists. She has been a part of the SIS family since 2008, when she joined as a facilitator in Grade 5.
Originally a BPharm graduate from Mumbai University with corporate experience, Preethy discovered her passion for teaching. Thereafter, she completed a Montessori course and B Ed before taking up teaching as a full-time career. Being a regular participant of several IB Workshops and SAIBSA sessions, she has kept herself updated with the latest innovations and technology in the educational field.
Her 12-year career in SIS includes teaching both lower and upper elementary students, mentoring & facilitating the Grade 5 Exhibition, developing the PYP Curriculum in terms of lesson plans, Unit planners and assessments while keeping in mind the different learning styles of students. In collaboration with her colleagues, she has conducted in- house Professional development sessions, including an Induction session for new PYP recruits. She has consistently been a part of the Core Committee, working closely with the school community during two successive IB Evaluation visits.
Her strength lies in Curriculum development and an intuitive understanding of young minds. Her strong interpersonal skills are an added asset.
