Admission Policy


  • Admission is open to students between 3 years to 19 years depending on the availability of seats.
  • Admissions for Nursery for the new academic year open in the first week of November each year. Admissions open for Grade 11 in the first week of April
  • The school accepts applications for admissions throughout the school year. Lateral admissions during an academic session would be based on the availability of seats, academic merits of the student, reasons for change/transfer and the applicant’s assessment on adaptability to the new environment.
  • Sibling/s will be given preference provided a seat is vacant.
  • The student is required to fulfil the age criteria as per government norms. Student eligibility shall be determined based in accordance with the programme requirements.
  • Expats need to submit relevant documents as per Govt. of India rules and regulations for foreign nationals and secure appropriate Visa / Resident permit, if applicable.
  • Age appropriate achievement tests are administered to identify the basic skills of a child in language/math/ science. These tests are administered to help the child and parent and in turn for the school to understand the child’s ability.
  • Children with special learning needs, abilities and challenges will be evaluated on case to case basis as per IB standards and practices.
  • In case of cancellation of admission, admission fee and school fee will not be refunded.
  • Registration fee is non-refundable. In instances of gap in attendance or non payment of fee for the entire semester, re-registration will have to be done after confirmation of availability of seats
  • A late fee of 100 INR per day will be applicable if school fees and any other dues are not paid on time. An incomplete Registration Form will be rejected without assigning any reasons.

Transfer Records/ Transfer Certificate/ Recommendation Letters / Providing Information To a 'New' School


The School will disclose a student's record (i.e. attendance card, progress report etc) to another school with legitimate educational interest only when a written request from the parent to release the child's record is received. No student's transcript, faculty recommendation or any other record will be released to the student, parents or institution until all the student's outstanding obligations (financials or others) to the school have been paid.


Testimonials


The school shall provide a set of (2 copies) required testimonials and recommendation letters to students graduating from IGCSE 2 and DP 2. Once the student is not a Bonafide student of SIS, the school will charge for the requested documents as per charges prevailing at that time.


True Copy / Attestation


Parents of Students who are not Bonafide students of SIS and requesting for recommendation letters to Universities abroad / overseas will be charged Rs. 300/-per letter. A fee of Rs. 10 per page will be charged for verification / true copy / attestation.


Valid Visa / Letter of Introduction from the employer / Duration of stay /Visas


Parents who come on an expat assignment and are being accompanied by their families would require the necessary visa for their ward. In case the student is not an Indian citizen and is not accompanied by his or her parents, he/she should enter the country with a 'valid student visa'. A student visa may be obtained through the Indian Embassy in the country in which the student is currently residing. On completion of the admission procedure, SIS issues a letter of confirmation with the effective date of admission at SIS. This document may be used as part of the visa application. It is the sole responsibility of the parent to maintain the current visa of the student, ensure that the student's passport validity is updated, and get their wards registered with the local authorities in Pune and the Foreigners' Registration Office (FRO).
